DESTINATION: Mount Rasta – Camporovere di Roana – Plateau of the Seven Municipalities (VI)
Event co-financed and organized in collaboration with Camporovere and the Municipal Administration of Roana.
"In this tragic and inhuman circle of Dante, there reigns only this leafy despair, this atrocious sense of the inanity of everything! Beyond the circle of the mountains of this accursed plateau, in the sun-drenched cities, in the homes of men, faith, hope, joy and love will perhaps continue to reign, and the lights of ideas that console the life of society will be kindled. On the plateau it was a plane, under the sun or the cry of the stars, despair reigns supreme."
This is what Italo Maffei wrote in the book "Pagine di guerra" from Monte Rasta, the place where he was during the First World War.
Following the tracks of fierce battles, such as trenches and soldiers' walkways... you will discover the history of this borderland, the Plateau of the Seven Municipalities.
Crossing beech and fir woods still present today, the clearings of Vaia and areas recently deforested due to the presence of the bark beetle, you will see the evolution of the mountain landscape to understand the deep connection between man and nature over the centuries.
A guided journey through the past, present and future perspectives of these mountains.
Views of rare beauty on the central basin and the feeling of well-being that nature can offer us with its scents, colors and shapes so special will give you unique emotions!

📈DIFFICULTY: we assign a difficulty of 2 on a scale from 1 (very easy) to 5 (challenging)
The route does not present particular technical difficulties, is suitable for everyone and develops between dirt roads and mountain paths. The difference in height is less than 250 m, there are no exposed sections.
🎒WHAT TO BRING WITH YOU: mountain boots, layered clothing suitable for the mountain climate, waterproof jacket, backpack with water for the duration of the excursion (at least 1 liter), a small snack such as dried fruit, sunscreen, sunglasses, hat. Long trousers are highly recommended.
🫰COST: €5 for the guided excursion per person. Free for residents in the municipality of Roana.
