On Monday, August 18, 2025, at 5:30 p.m., Piazza Giardini in Gallio will host a new appointment in the summer festival "Aperitif with the Author by Brazzale", starring Igor Sibaldi, who will present his latest book: How not to be stupid. Exercises in nonconformism, published by Mondadori.
The book is proposed as a real manual to recognize and overcome the mechanisms that block free thought and personal evolution. According to the author, stupidity is not an absolute condition, but a temporary block of some fundamental functions of the personality, such as thinking, acting, wanting or remembering. Identifying these dysfunctions and reactivating them is the first step to cultivating one's uniqueness and getting out of the cage of conformism.
The volume offers the reader practical tools such as self-assessment tests, exercises and "re-education" paths for each compromised function, with the aim of stimulating authentic critical thinking skills.
Igor Sibaldi is one of the best-known writers, essayists, playwrights and translators on the contemporary Italian scene. Born in Milan to a Russian mother and an Italian father, he has an academic background in Slavic languages and literatures and is considered an expert in theology, history of religions and personal growth. He has edited translations and commentaries on works by Dostoevsky, Tolstoy and biblical texts, and for years he has been conducting conferences and seminars on spirituality, psychology and independent thought.
Admission to the event is free, subject to availability.
