Destination: Altarknotto, Alta Kugela, Altaburg

The Altar Knotto is a suggestive rock formation of the Asiago Plateau, located overlooking the Val d'Astico, whose shape resembles that of a large altar poised between heaven and earth.

This place has always evoked more or less legendary tales that connect nature to the world of the popular imagination.

The beauty of this site is due not only to the suggestive rock formations, but also to the luxuriant flora present that quickly passes from the thermophilic plants of the ridges to the typically alpine vegetation of our mountains. 

A walk through the beech woods and unforgettable views, between Altaburg, the Altar knotto and the Alta kugela with a circular route.

Reservations are required. 

📈DIFFICULTY: we assign a difficulty 3 on a scale from 1 (very easy) to 5 (challenging)

The route does not present any particular technical difficulties, is suitable for everyone and develops between dirt roads and mountain paths. The uphill elevation gain is less than 300 m, there are exposed sections.

🎒TO TAKE WITH YOU: mountain boots, layered clothing suitable for the mountain climate, waterproof jacket, backpack with water for the duration of the excursion (at least 1 liter), a small snack such as dried fruit.

🫰COST: €15 for the guided excursion per person. €10 for children under 15 and season ticket holders.

From there it is necessary to travel by car, with your own  vehicle of 3 minutes on an asphalt road.

There are no services (toilet - refreshment) at the starting point and  not all telephone companies have reception.
