Saturday 2 August from 5.30 pm to 10.00 pm

Destination: Piana di Marcesina 

We find ourselves in  Marcesina, walking in the Plain, we are enveloped by the simple and genuine atmosphere of mountain pasture life, the cows and horses grazing, the melodies of cowbells and spectacular views of the Alps.

With the last light of day, at sunset, we continue through mountain pastures, peat bogs and the evocative Eagle of Vaia by Marco Martalar made with the wood of the Vaia storm whose signs can still be seen in the area.

At nightfall we refresh ourselves with a dinner at the Barricata Refuge with the following typical menu:

• Gnocchi with sauces or Tagliatelle with game sauce
• Grilled loin or game stew or cold dish Barricade
• Strudel or tart
• water and a glass of wine
• coffee 

At the end of the dinner we will be enraptured by the low light pollution of Marcesina and we will admire the Moon and Stars in all their splendor.

With the use of telescopes and the guidance of a passionate amateur astronomer we will discover scientific and mythological curiosities about the summer sky.

📈DIFFICULTY:  we assign a difficulty 2 on a scale from 1 (very easy) to 5 (challenging)

The route is suitable for everyone and develops between dirt roads and mountain paths. The uphill elevation gain is less than 200 m, there are no exposed sections and it does not present any particular technical difficulties.

🎒TO BRING WITH YOU: mountain boots, layered clothing suitable for the mountain climate, waterproof jacket, backpack with water for the duration of the excursion, a small snack such as dried fruit, hat, sunglasses, head torch (if in possession, possibly with a fixed red light), any towel to sit and observe the stars. 

As darkness falls there can be a considerable temperature range, it is advisable to have an extra layer of clothing.

🫰COST: €25 for the guided excursion per person with the use of telescopes, €10 for children under 15 and subscribers. 

Participants will be offered a taste of local products.

🍽 COST OF DINNER: €20 for the above menu per person. Payment must be made on site directly to the structure (we recommend in cash because the POS is not always received).
