Historical-naturalistic excursion between the places of the Great War and the wonders of high altitude
Destination: Monte Zebio - Asiago Plateau Seven Municipalities
Event organized by Asiago Guide in collaboration with the municipal administration of Roana and the Pro Loco of Treschè Conca.
Come and discover Monte Zebio, a place where the history of the Great War blends with the natural biodiversity of high altitude.
A Journey through the History of the Great War
Monte Zebio was the scene of bloody clashes during the First World War. This strategic area was part of the Austrian "Winterstellung", while in front of it extended the Italian trenches, from which the soldiers tried in vain to regain the positions lost in 1916. Emilio Lussu also fought here, who recounted the experience of the Sassari Brigade in the famous book "A year on the Plateau".
The local guide will take you on a journey through time, interpreting the current landscape to make you understand the events of the past. It will be a unique opportunity to live an immersive experience in nature and history, full of emotions and food for thought.

📈DIFFICULTY: we assign a difficulty 4 on a scale from 1 (very easy) to 5 (challenging)
The route develops between mountain paths, dirt roads. There are no exposed sections. The uphill elevation gain is less than 500 m.
🎒TO BRING WITH YOU: mountain boots, layered clothing suitable for the mountain climate, waterproof jacket, backpack with water for the duration of the excursion (at least 1 L), a small snack such as dried fruit, hat, sunscreen, sunglasses, any towel to sit on, PACKED LUNCH.
🫰COST: €15 for the guided excursion per person, FREE for children under 15 years old.
