Don Marco Pozza - photo by Stefania CasellatoOn Monday, May 20, 2024, at 8:30 p.m., a meeting with Don Marco Pozza and Don Federico Fabris will take place at the Palazzetto Polifunzionale di Canove entitled: "In the world of (never) lost causes", organized by the Municipality of Roana in collaboration with the Pro Loco Canove.
The evening is free without reservation and is part of the meetings launched this winter of the container "Culture on stage: an unmissable opportunity to feed the mind".
Don Marco Pozza, chaplain of the "Due Palazzi" prison in Padua, is an Italian priest, writer, journalist, television personality and author. He is well-known in the cultural and spiritual landscape. His charismatic presence and inspirational approach promise an event that will leave audiences with new perspectives and thoughts.
Originally from Calvene, in the province of Vicenza and diocese of Padua, he was ordained a priest on 6 June 2004 by the bishop of Padua Antonio Mattiazzo. After his ordination, he became parochial vicar at the parish of the Holy Family, in Padua. During this period, struck by the absence of young people at the Eucharistic celebrations, he decided to meet them directly in the Paduan clubs at aperitif time: for this reason he was nicknamed "Don Spritz". For his work of evangelization among young people, in 2007 he was the protagonist of an episode of the Witness, on MTV, entitled "The Vocation", in which he spoke of young consecrated persons, their life in the modern world and the crisis of religiosity in society.
The evening will be moderated by Don Federico Fabris, chaplain of the Asiago hospital and originally from Roana. Priest, Counsellor at AIPAS Italian Association of Health Pastoral Care, collaborator at Up Piovene – Rocchette – Grumello, spiritual assistant at Italian National Amputee Football Team.
The cultural evening will be a dialogue between the two priests, who will touch on various themes including those of faith and spirituality, also mentioning some passages from Don Marco's latest novel, "Sea Wolf - the girl from Nazareth who challenged God". In his latest work, Don Marco wants to tell the figure of Mary of Nazareth, from another point of view, not as the Madonna we all know but as a woman with the most human, weekly, suffered aspects who challenged God.
The meeting is open to everyone.
