On Monday, July 14, 2025, at 4:00 p.m., in Gallio at the Sala Verde, "Artists of Prehistory: engravings and cave paintings" will be held, a playful-educational workshop for children and young people of the Officina Creativa review, curated by the Terre Alte Cultural Association.
Since the dawn of time, man has felt the need to represent himself and the world around him: painting, engraving, modeling. On the walls of the caves where he lived, he represented hunting scenes, animals, religious symbols and abstract figures, using natural colors and applying them with his fingers or rudimentary tools.
During the workshop, children will be able to try their hand at reproducing some of the most famous images of prehistoric art, painting on flat stones using colors obtained from minerals and earths, as our ancestors did.
On clay supports they will also make engravings inspired by historical rock depictions , such as those preserved on the rocks of the Val d'Assa on the Plateau of the Seven Municipalities.
The activity is aimed at children and young people aged 5 to 14, for an afternoon of creativity, manual skills and the discovery of the origins of art.
