On Tuesday, August 6 , 2024, from 5:30 p.m., the Palazzetto di Canove will host an event of great interest: "Beyond the Image", an afternoon and evening of information on the history of the Alpine troops.
Giampaolo Marchetti, author of the book "Oltre l'immagine", will offer an original overview of the Alpini, the elite of mountain soldiers' corps, through the tables published for decades in "La Domenica del Corriere". These illustrations, created by artists such as Achille Beltrame, have immortalized, with lively and immediate graphics, the heroic and daily events of the Alpini, helping to build the collective imagination and historical memory of this military corps.
The event will be enriched by a guided tour of the Museum of the Great War in Canove, where the exhibition "Alpini - Our history through the covers of the Domenica del Corriere" is set up, of which Marchetti is the curator, together with Giovanni Basso and Lt. Col. Mario Renna.
Through the covers on display, it will be possible to rediscover episodes of war, moments of peace and aspects of the daily life of these soldiers, with particular attention to the war events of the twentieth century, from world conflicts to the campaigns in Russia.
Don't miss the opportunity to participate in this evening of historical and cultural insight, an unmissable event for all history enthusiasts and for those who want to learn more about the events of the Alpini.
