DESTINATION: Monte Longara - Asiago plateau and the Seven Municipalities (VI)
Pope Wojtyla, during a helicopter ride, wanted to stop in these alpine pastures to contemplate our mountains and our history, immersed in the peace of these places.
The snowshoe hike will be the real opportunity to enjoy views of rare beauty, listen to the sounds of the forest, understand what a Malga really is, but also to learn about the history of these places that have witnessed helplessly the cruel clashes between the armies during the Great War of which the landscape visibly shows the signs, even under the blanket of white snow.
Reservations are required.
DIFFICULTY: we assign a difficulty 3 on a scale from 1 (very easy) to 5 (challenging)
The route is a ring, does not present particular technical difficulties and there are no exposed sections. It develops between mountain paths and dirt roads. The difference in height uphill is less than 300 m, the length does not exceed 7 km.
TO TAKE WITH YOU: mountain boots, layered clothing suitable for the mountain climate, waterproof jacket, water or hot tea for the duration of the excursion, a small snack such as dried fruit, cap, gloves.
COST: 15€ for the guided excursion per person, 5€ for children under 15 years.
Possible snowshoes and poles rental: € 10 per person.
In case there is not enough snow, we will proceed on foot without the aid of snowshoes.
MEETING: at 9.30 am at the Terrace of the Baita Sport & Gourmet of Le Melette - Località Busa Fonda, 36032 Gallio VI -
It starts on foot from the meeting point.
