Destination: Monte Cengio 

We set off near Malga Roccolo, to immerse ourselves in a lush mountain landscape. Walking through pastures and flowery meadows, you will have the opportunity to fully savor the beauty of spring in the mountains.

Once you reach Monte Cengio, its imposing mule track, the suggestive tunnels and the legendary Salto del Granatiere tell the story of the Great War. This is one of the most evocative routes in the Italian mountains, an exciting journey through nature and history.

We will walk along the mule track carved into the rock and cross the tunnels, enjoying spectacular views of the Valdastico below . 

During the excursion, we'll have a picnic lunch at a viewpoint, and then return to the starting point with a pleasant walk through woods and alpine pastures.

📈DIFFICULTY: we assign a difficulty 3 on a scale from 1 (very easy) to 5 (challenging)

The route does not present particular technical difficulties, it is characterized by the presence of mountain paths, mule tracks, tunnels and some stretches of asphalt road, rarely trafficked. The mule track is located overlooking the Val d'Astico, the path is made safe by the presence of handrails, but it is still partially exposed. The uphill elevation gain is less than 450 m. 

🎒TO BRING ALONG: mountain boots, layered clothing suitable for the mountain climate - long trousers, waterproof jacket, backpack with water for the duration of the excursion are highly recommended, a small snack such as dried fruit, hat, sunscreen, sunglasses, any towel to sit on, PACKED LUNCH. 

🫰COST: €25 for the guided excursion per person, €10 for children under 15 and season ticket holders. 

Participants will be offered a taste of local products.

We start on foot from the meeting point.
