On Saturday 19 July 2025, at 3:30 pm, the headquarters of the Pro Loco of Treschè Conca will host the presentation of the book "Biography of a modern recuperant. The Great War for Giancarlo Rovini", edited by the journalist and scholar Giovanni Dalle Fusine.

The volume tells the life of Giancarlo Rovini, a symbolic figure of the historical recovery linked to the First World War on the Asiago Plateau Seven Municipalities. 

The volume traces the life of Giancarlo Rovini, a passionate recuperator and a central figure in the enhancement of the historical memory of the Great War on the Asiago Plateau.

The intense research and recovery activity carried out for decades has led to the creation of a private museum, which can now be visited in Treschè Conca, which exhibits the collection he created together with his son Stefano. The museum preserves a large collection of objects found on the battlefields of the Plateau: tools of daily life in the trenches, personal protection, work tools and a wide range of hand grenades. Finds that, together, tell not only the technological evolution of war, but also the difficult living conditions of soldiers and the human drama experienced on the Cengio, Lèmerle, Mosciagh, Zebio, Fior, Ortigara and Pasubio mountains, and along the Brenta, Piave and Isonzo rivers.

Giovanni Dalle Fusine, author of the biography, is a journalist and scholar of the history of the Great War. He collaborates with the fortnightly L'Altopiano, publishes in local and national magazines, and is a member of the board of directors of the Great War Museum in Canove. Author of numerous publications dedicated to the First World War, he has also collaborated with Rai Storia and the History Channel as a historical consultant for thematic documentaries.
