On Saturday, December 7, 2024, at 10:00 a.m., at the Hall of the Mountain Union Dear Regency of the Seven Municipalities in Asiago, the presentation of the book "THE CAPTAIN - Emilio Lussu: the Karst, the Plateau and the Piave that has never told", written by Stefano Aluisini and Ruggero Dal Molin, will be held.
The event, sponsored by the Municipality of Asiago and the Mountain Union, will offer a unique opportunity to deepen the figure of Emilio Lussu and his experiences during the Great War.
During the meeting, the authors will guide the public on a journey through Lussu's experiences on the Karst, on the Plateau of the Seven Municipalities and along the Piave, making use of the projection of photographs and a rare period film.
The volume, published by Itinera Progetti, consists of 461 pages enriched by 350 photographs, many of which have never been published. Through a reinterpretation of the famous "A year on the Plateau", the authors reveal background and events that Lussu chose not to tell, bringing to light the faces and stories of men and women who have so far remained hidden in the folds of history.
