On Thursday, August 21, 2025, at 9:00 p.m., at the Cimbrian Cultural Institute of Roana (Via Romeo Sartori, 21), the presentation of the book "May 1945. From war to peace" by Giovanni Rattini, with the participation of the author.
The volume was born from the willingness of Maria Maddalena Rigoni Stern – sister of the famous writer Mario Rigoni Stern – to share, after so many years, her memories related to her brother's return home, on May 8, 1945, after the war and imprisonment.
Through this touching personal story, Giovanni Rattini composes a broader and deeper reflection that condemns the warmongering drift of contemporary politics, too often inclined to choose the path of arms rather than that of dialogue.
An explicit and necessary invitation not to forget the lessons of history, and to reconsider the value of peace through the memory of a man – Mario Rigoni Stern – who made honesty and respect for man and nature the cornerstones of his thought.
Admission is free of charge.
