As part of the usual literary mini-review "Writers at Fort Corbin", Loris Giuriatti presents his latest novel: "La tormenta di San Giovanni", published by Rizzoli.

The event will be held on Friday, August 30 , 2024, from 5:00 p.m., at Fort Corbin, Tresché Conca.

Loris Giuriatti paints the Alpine landscape, intertwining it with the crucial events of the last century. His narration, characterized by calm tones, invites us to peer beyond the veil of the obvious, finding deep meanings even in the most stormy moments of existence.

The storm of San Giovanni

When the storm hits Monte Grappa, everything stops. Roberto, manager of the only hotel in the area, finds himself stuck with a heterogeneous group: his cousin Giulio, the young Gabriele, the eighty-year-old Vecio - an expert connoisseur of the paths - and Paolo, an entrepreneur from Padua.

Roberto and Giulio, once inseparable, have not seen each other for 16 years, separated by a tragic accident that has led their lives on divergent paths: one in the mountains, the other in the hectic city life.

As the storm rages, the Vecio recalls another storm from 1934, when two young cousins investigated a mystery that shocked the Grappa community. The mountain, however, does not make anything happen by chance.

This forced coexistence turns into an opportunity to explore new horizons and reveal truths hidden in time. The apparent misadventure becomes a catalyst for change for everyone present.

Between memories, revelations and comparisons, a story of reconciliation and discovery emerges. When the sky clears, none of the five men will ever be the same, transformed by this unique experience on Monte Grappa.
