On Friday 26 July 2024, at 8:45 pm, the Gallio Auditorium will host a special event on the occasion of the Centenary of the Gallio Alpini Group 1924 - 2024. "Ritorneranno" is a historical re-enactment accompanied by a theatrical performance of great emotional impact, which narrates the experience faced by the Alpini during the Second World War on the Russian front, with a narrative inspired by the autobiographical writings of Blessed Carlo Gnocchi.

Don Carlo Gnocchi, priest and blessed, was a military chaplain of the Alpini during the Second World War. His writings, including "Christ with the Alpini", offer a touching account of the difficulties and sacrifices faced by soldiers on the Eastern Front. Through his words, Don Gnocchi documented not only the suffering of the war, but also the extraordinary humanity and spirituality that accompanied the Alpini in the hardest moments.

On stage, actors Andrea Maria Carabelli and Matteo Bonanni will bring these dramatic events to life, offering a deep and moving insight into what Italian soldiers experienced during that tragic and absurd war. 

The show is punctuated by the notes of some Alpine songs that certainly accompanied even then the dramatic enterprise of those young Alpini in Russia, who found support and hope in them. 

The combination of historical re-enactment and theatrical art will be able to transport the audience back in time, offering a starting point for a deep reflection on history and sacrifice. 

The event is subject to a fee, with a cost of € 10 per person. Tickets can be purchased at the Gallio Tourist Office. 

"Ritorneranno" represents an important opportunity to commemorate the courage and sacrifice of the Alpini, through the powerful medium of theater.
