Canove di Roana, on the Altopiano dei Sette Comuni, on 21 -22-23-24-25 April 2023 returns to celebrate with the traditional Festival of San Marco and Cuchi.
This event is always very much felt by the residents of the plateau because on April 25th, the day of celebration for the anniversary of the Liberation is also that of San Marco, the patron saint of Canove.
It is a popular festival animated by stalls, markets and various entertainment for young people, adults and families with a food stand, where you can taste typical local dishes and listen to good live music.
And, to the delight of teenagers and children, there is also the LUNA PARK!
Tuesday, April 25 the Festival of San Marco and Cuchi di Canove will also be flanked by the 4 ^ edition of San Marcà, a rich market of crafts, curiosities and gastronomic specialties and, of course, of cucchi, which constitute an ancient tradition on the Asiago plateau.
The cuchi are typical handmade whistles made of terracotta, of every color and shape, and represent a symbol of love and friendship. The cuco, in fact, was brought as a gift by lovers to their beloved as a token of love.
For the duration of the Sagra di San Marco, these characteristic whistles can be purchased in the numerous stalls in Canove. There will be cuchi of all kinds, divided according to price, shape and colors. On some stalls there are also water cuchi, in the shape of a small vase, where blowing at the mouth you get a gurgling sound. Once you have bought your own whistle, everyone blows into it and the festival is filled with sounds: low, high, strong, weak, shrill and rhythmic like the cuckoo's song.
The Festival of San Marco is an event of particular importance and importance on the Altopiano dei Sette Comuni, which attracts families and day-trippers also from the Vicenza plains. Don't miss it!
