Destination: Asiago Plateau Seven Municipalities
One of the last opportunities to snowshoe during this winter season in the Plateau of the Seven Municipalities and enjoy today that exciting sense of peace and freedom that the Mountain can give.
This excursion develops through pastures and fir forests and wonderful views from the Alps to the central basin of the Plateau.
A place that is so fascinating today and that was once the scene of fierce battles during the First World War.
Looking at the landscape in detail, it is possible to see how the traces of the Conflict are still present such as trenches and walkways, military roads, burst craters, water tanks, memorial stones....
Stories of soldiers and bloody battles, stories of life at the front during the winter and gestures of humanity, the refugee of the inhabitants of the Plateau and the devastation of the territory... not to forget what the Great War was and how it forever upset these mountains and their inhabitants.
Reservations are required.
📈DIFFICULTY: we assign a difficulty 2 on a scale from 1 (very easy) to 5 (challenging). The route does not present any particular technical difficulties. The uphill elevation gain is less than 250 m, there are no exposed sections.
🎒TO BRING ALONG: waterproof mountain boots (No Moon Boot), layered clothing suitable for the mountain climate, waterproof jacket, backpack with water for the duration of the excursion or hot tea, a small snack such as dried fruit, hat, gloves, sunglasses.
🫰COST: €20 for the guided snowshoe hike per person, €10 for children under 15 and season ticket holders. In the event that there is no snow, the price will not change.
Snowshoes and poles rental: €10 per person.
Participants will be offered a taste of local products.
🧭MEETING POINT: 9.30 a.m. in the upper area of the Plateau of the Seven Municipalities.
Precise information on the meeting place with georeferenced position will be sent to those booked the day before the event based on the snow present.
