Saturday 23 September 2023 from 14.30 to 17.30
GOAL: Monte Cengio - Asiago plateau and the Seven Municipalities (VI)
The mule track, the tunnels and the legendary Salto del Granatiere, make this route one of the most evocative among our mountains.
In May 1916 with the start of the Spring Offensive the Italians were forced to retreat until they reached the edge of the plateau. The entire mountain was fortified by building tunnels and passages overlooking the underlying Valdastico, giving us breathtaking views today.
The work and sacrifice of the soldiers, remains imprinted between these ledges that will give you a mountain of emotions especially with the breathtaking view visible from this path.
Reservations are required.
DIFFICULTY: we assign a difficulty 3 on a scale from 1 (very easy) to 5 (challenging)
The route does not present particular technical difficulties, it is characterized by the presence of mountain paths, mule tracks, tunnels and some stretches of paved road, rarely busy. The mule track is located overlooking the Val d'Astico, the path is placed safely by the presence of handrails, but it is still exposed. The difference in height uphill is less than 350m.
TO BRING WITH YOU: mountain boots, layered clothing suitable for the mountain climate, waterproof jacket, water for the duration of the excursion (at least 1 liter), possibly a small snack such as dried fruit, sunglasses, front battery.
