GOAL: Monte Cengio - Asiago and Seven Municipalities Plateau (VI)
Monte Cengio, with its perched mule track, tunnels and the legendary Salto del Granatiere, is one of the most evocative routes in the Italian mountains.
What to expect:
- You will discover the fortifications built during the First World War to defend the Asiago Plateau from the Austro-Hungarian army. You will walk along the mule track, carved into the rock by hand by the soldiers, and you will cross the tunnels that offer breathtaking views of the Valdastico below.
- An immersion in nature: Monte Cengio is a real paradise for nature lovers. Among the limestone rocks and beech forests you can admire a rich and varied flora and fauna .

📈DIFFICULTY: we assign a difficulty 3 on a scale from 1 (very easy) to 5 (challenging)
The route does not present particular technical difficulties, it is characterized by the presence of mountain paths, mule tracks, tunnels and some stretches of asphalt road, rarely trafficked. The mule track is located overlooking the Val d'Astico, the path is made safe by the presence of handrails, but it is still exposed. The elevation gain is less than 350m.
🎒TO TAKE WITH YOU: mountain boots, layered clothing suitable for the mountain climate, waterproof jacket, backpack with water for the duration of the excursion (at least 1 liter), a small snack such as dried fruit, sunglasses, hat, headlamp for the optional return.
🫰COST: €15 for the guided excursion per person. €10 for children under 15 years old.

We start on foot from the meeting place. There are no facilities (toilet - refreshment) at the starting point.
