GOAL: Monte Ortigara - Asiago plateau and the Seven Municipalities (VI)
Mount Ortigara is the mountain symbol of the Great War in the Plateau.
The distance from the villages, the harsh and long winters, the scarce vegetation, make perfectly visible the signs left by the two armies deployed to fight each other up here at 2000 m during the First World War.
The guide interpreting the landscape will take you on a journey through the history of this place, but will also tell you about the peculiarities of flowers and plants that live there.
Reservations are required.
DIFFICULTY: we assign a difficulty 4 on a scale from 1 (very easy) to 5 (challenging)
The route develops between mountain paths and dirt roads through the upper area of the Altopiano dei Sette Comuni. The difference in height uphill is less than 600 m there are no exposed sections.
TO BRING WITH YOU: mountain boots, layered clothing suitable for the mountain climate, waterproof jacket, water for the duration of the excursion (at least 1 liter), a small snack such as dried fruit, sunscreen, sunglasses, hat, PACKED LUNCH.
COST: 20€ for the guided excursion. 5€ for children under 15 years.
