On Friday, June 13, 2025, at 8:45 p.m., at the Council Chamber of Gallio, the informative evening "Beyond the hard trenches: works, means and heroism of the Corps of Engineers" will be held, an event open to all, dedicated to the fundamental role played by this historic technical component of the Italian Army during the Great War.
Decorated with the Gold Medal for Military Valor for its decisive contribution in the conflict of 1915-1918, the Corps of Engineers was a silent but essential protagonist in the theater of war. Through images, testimonies and insights, the evening will offer a glimpse into the extraordinary design and operational capacity of the Engineers: from work in the rear to construction on the front line, up to the development and use of innovative technical means that changed the face of the front.
An opportunity to better understand the value of a force that, in addition to courage, has put in place ingenuity, study and spirit of service, contributing in a decisive way to the fate of the conflict.
