
As part of the calendar of "Su, in Malga!", the summer festival promoted by the Municipality of Gallio to enhance the culture of the mountain pastures, a special morning is scheduled for Saturday 23 August 2025 at Malga Zovetto, in Cesuna.
The event will begin at 9:00 am with a short excursion that will lead participants to the evocative setting of the malga, where you can closely watch the artisanal production of ricotta. A fascinating and delicate process that follows the processing of the cheese: the residual whey is brought to 90 degrees and "re-cooked", bringing out, with delicate movements, the ricotta flakes.
Once a poor food, ricotta was eaten with polenta or kneaded with a little flour to prepare the famous gnocchi of the festival, simply seasoned with melted butter. Simple but authentic flavors, which it will be possible to rediscover and savor in the splendid setting of Malga Zovetto. For the tasting there is a contribution of € 5 per person.

The route does not present any particular technical difficulties, is suitable for everyone and develops between dirt roads and mountain paths. The uphill elevation gain is less than 200 m, there are no exposed sections.
🎒TO BRING ALONG: mountain boots, layered clothing suitable for the mountain climate, waterproof jacket, backpack with water for the duration of the excursion, a small snack such as dried fruit, sunscreen, sunglasses, hat.
