Friends of the theatre company performance of Pianiga in Plateau
British comedy and humor in Plateau Saturday 29 July 2017.
From 21.00 at The Auditorium of Canove di Roana, the Friends of the Theatre Company of Pianiga will perform in theatrical performance titled "cash on delivery". Show in two acts by Michael Cooney, directed by Gianni Rossi.
CASH ON DELIVERY
"Cash on delivery" (Cash on delivery), unpublished text in Italy of the son (Michael) of the famous playwright Ray Cooney (the bed oval, Double Cab, etc.) that is a very very current theme: fraud against the State, or both, the scourge of fake invalids.
A frantic comedy packed with humorous, clumsy and stereotyped characters ventured into a farce indecipherable but evidently crystal clear, who joked about the healthcare system and social security.
In response to several letters from social security to the old tenant of his apartment, Rupert Thompson, Eric, unemployed for two years, has a brilliant idea: take on the identity of Rupert, now emigrated to Canada, in order to receive bonuses.
Eric remains trapped by bureaucracy and unable to stop the flow of cheques and even AIDS in response to explicit requests. The characters in this comedy, first among them Norman, they are involved in a series of tangled events, giving rise to a colossal misunderstanding that could be easily untangled. But lie after lie, common characters's life becomes increasingly chaotic and complex creating events paradoxical, ironic and sadly also sad.
Are the paradoxes of our industrialized society dominated by capitalism: the money is wasted for imaginary invalid or unemployed who become symbol of how systemic Snarls are uncontrollable and concealed by paperwork. The real needs of humanity are not taken into serious consideration and removed, even though the solution might be simple and fast.
