Destination: Malga Dosso di Sotto

Event organized and co-financed with the Municipal Administration of the City of Asiago

A fascinating excursion to discover the pastures and the extraordinary botanical richness that characterize the environment of Malga Dosso di Sotto.

 A path surrounded by nature, where every step leads us to get to know the mountain herbs that contribute to making the flavors of the dairy products of this area unique.

Walking through green expanses full of blooms, we discover the biodiversity that makes these pastures an authentic natural treasure chest. 

The guide tells us about the plant species that grow in this environment and their role in feeding livestock, which is essential for the quality of the milk and cheeses produced in the malga.

The excursion ends at 6.00 pm at Malga Dosso di Sotto, where there will be the opportunity to learn about the daily work of those who preserve these centuries-old traditions and to taste local products guided by the experts of the Consortium for the Protection of Asiago PDO, a combination of mountain honeys and dairy products, both the most authentic expression of the territory. 

Finally, to brighten the day there will be the friends of the Asiago Choir, whose voices will echo between the walls of Portule and Verena, making this experience unique and unforgettable.

The experience ends at 20.00 with the return in the company of the cars.

📈DIFFICULTY: we assign a difficulty 1 on a scale from 1 (very easy) to 5 (challenging)

The route does not present any particular technical difficulties, is suitable for everyone and develops between dirt roads and mountain paths. The uphill elevation gain is less than 150 m, there are no exposed sections.

🎒TO BRING ALONG: mountain boots, layered clothing suitable for the mountain climate, waterproof jacket, backpack with water for the duration of the excursion (at least 1 liter), a small snack such as dried fruit, sunscreen, sunglasses, hat.

🫰COST: €10 for the guided excursion per person. Free for children under 15 years old.
