DESTINATION: Valley of the Mills of Lusiana and Sant'Anna - Asiago Plateau and the Seven Municipalities (VI)
From the village of Covolo di Lusiana we head towards Valle di Sopra to enter the magical and secluded world of the Chiavone Bianco stream. Over the centuries, the power of the water that comes from the southern springs of the Plateau of the Seven Municipalities was used here through various hydraulic machines. The ancient mills were used to grind wheat, the "pestarini" to polish barley, the hammers to beat iron and the sawmill to make boards and beams.
Here, where time seems to have stopped, the dry stone walls, fountains, capitals and mule tracks tell us about lives spent in close contact with Nature. After passing Valli di Sotto we head to the Church of Sant'Anna and San Valentino where we can relax and have a packed lunch and then resume our excursion guided by the gurgling of the water, crossing wooden bridges and following the tracks of wildlife.
Reservations are required.
