War Trails: The British in the Plateau - Sun 12 July 2020

Guided historical-naturalistic walk through the places of the Great War with Asiago Guide

Sunday 12 July 2020 from 9.30am to 1pm

Not everyone is known about the British intervention in Italy during the First World War, the British Expeditionary Force (B.E.F.) was deployed in March 1918 between Asiago and Cesuna in support of the Italian divisions in the trenches.

The British Empire at the time spanled all continents and included a fifth of the world's population, which is why there were numerous nationalities up here to fight.

Through the tangible signs left by the War, such as trenches and cemeteries,we will introduce you to the stories of thesesoldiers, catapulted into the Plateau, literally on the other side of the world.

Along the way through spruce forests and lush grasslands,the guide interpreting the landscape will take you on a journey through history to give you an experience in Nature full of emotions!

Reservations are required.

Mandatory personal equipment of mask and disinfectant gel.

DIFFICULT: We assign a difficulty 2 on a scale from 1 (very easy) to 5 (challenging)

The route does not present any particular technical difficulties. It develops between mountain trails and dirt roads, The uphill difference is less than 250 m. There are no exposed strokes.

FROM PORT WITH Self: mountain boots, layered clothing suitable for the mountain climate, waterproof jacket, water for the duration of the excursion (at least 1 liter), a small snack such as dried fruit, sunscreen, sunglasses, cap.

COST: 15 euros for guided hike. 5th for children under 15.
