HOGA ZAIT 2022: THE CIMBRO FESTIVAL
The first weekend of Hoga Zait, the traditional Cimbrian festival of the Municipality of Roana, has just ended and has already found a lot of enthusiasm and participation from families, children, young people and the elderly in the various activities proposed.
The event has reached its 17th edition with many new proposals suitable for a wide audience, such as: treasure hunts, sunset excursions and trekking with alpacas proposed by Asiago Guide; the laboratory activities curated by Consuelo Morello; the shows with the storyteller Ramalock curated by Dream Show, the typical Cimbrian dinner and the inaugural propitiatory bonfire ; The concert of the singer Maria Roveran, who interpreted several songs in the Cimbrian language and finally the screening of the Cimbro short film "La Fiamma",a legendary fantasy tale. Subsequently, other video presentations were proposed by Fiorenzo Nicolussi, of the Cimbra Institute of Culture of Luserna, who was able to enchant the audience with his Cimbrian speech.
In the early evening the mayor avv. Elisabetta Magnabosco together with the Municipal Administration of Roana welcomed tourists and residents who arrived to participate in the festival.
Below we summarize the words of the First Citizen: "Hoga Zait, is a Cimbrian festival for us very important because it marks the step of what is a tradition on the Plateau, and is the only festival recognized by the Veneto Region. It is a festival that combines colors, traditions and territory and the important values that are handed down in our culture. I wish you to spend some beautiful days and have the opportunity to touch and taste the delicacies that only on this occasion you can taste. "
Subsequently, the Ass. al Turismo Giulia Mosele also greeted those present and said: "In this edition a working group was created consisting of various professional figures, who knew how to work in synergy and harmony and who created an ad hoc event. It was decided to enhance the festival even more, in addition to walks and workshops, themed dinners and the propitiatory bonfire were reintroduced. "Finally, we thanked JeEvent, Asiago Guide, the civil protection, the Pro loco of the Municipality of Roana and all the participants.
Hoga Zait will continue next weekend, we remember some important events:
Thursday, July 21 at 21:00: Conference "Si Cimbri sunt..." with Ing. Francesco Manzoni at the Cimbra Institute of Culture in Roana (via Sartori, 20 – near the Center);
Saturday, July 23 at 17:00: Folk show of the "Trombini di San Bartolomeo" in Cesuna at the Piazzale del Palaciclamino
Sunday, July 24 at 15:30: Traditional crossing of the Val d'Assa with Asiago Guide and Schellaträger (departure from the Church of Canove); Following great final party with dances of the Cimbro Group "Valli del Leno, Vallarsa".
We also inform you that the torchlight procession and the great fairytale show have been moved to Sunday, August 21 at 20:45 to give the opportunity to a greater number of tourists and residents to be able to participate.
