The municipality of Asiago, together with the province of Belluno and the Tyrol, is proceeding with the various operations under cross-border cooperation programme Interreg project, funded by the Italy-Austria, "Futourist".
This European programme, applied to lesser-known alpine resorts to the masses, aims to promote a kind of emotional and thematic tourism, exploitation of upland infrastructure; tourism that goes hand in hand withenvironmental education, care and conservation of nature.
The project Futourist specifically provides for the enhancement of the natural and cultural heritage Alpine through open air sports, touristic and sustainable initiatives and aims to increase tourist flows in the territories of the partners and to diversify the types of users who access the areas identified.
Partners, after developing an integrated communication plan, have established a set of criteria for the identification of pilot locations to be exploited in tourism thanks to the practice of outdoor activities (hiking walking, biking, snowshoes).
The municipality of Asiago, specifically, has identified 5 itineraries that depart from the historic center and allowing users to discover places of great natural beauty, historical and cultural landscape.
Just to name a few: the battle of Asiago, the Strong Interrupted, the outdoor museum of the great war by Monte Zebio, theAstrophysical Observatory and the Museum of water.
In the coming months there will be a series of events to promote these routes in a perspective of soft tourism and local economic operators will be involved in order to ensure acceptance and visibility to the project reaching the largest number of potential users.
"The goal is to increase the number of foreign tourists to the plateau -are the words of the Councillor for sport and for public works, Franco Saddle -. With "Futourist", thanks to network with other partners, will stick a CO2-free tourism by catching the interest of a growing share of visitors who show interest in obtaining of the mountain related to outdoor activities. "
Just last week the representatives of the municipality of Asiago went to Innsbruck for an encounter in which were shared paths and areas identified according to the canons of the Futourist project. The meeting was attended by Austrian partners and Belluno and in the afternoon were also defined the methods and events to promote these paths. The amount allocated to the municipality of Asiago is €184,610.75.
