Alps Hockey League season ends early

The Board of Governors of the Alps Hockey League has decided to cancel the Alps Hockey League 2019/2020 championship.

"After a detailed consultation and closely observing developments over the last two weeks, and finally after the current government decrees regarding the crown virus, the Board of Governors of the Alps Hockey League has decided to cancel the Alps Hockey League 2019/2020 championship.

With national decrees, the requirements and recommendations of the governments of Italy, Slovenia and Austria it seems impossible to continue a serious alloy operation.
Due to the end of the season, there will be no 2020 Alps Hockey League champion. Declaring a sample in these circumstances would not conform to our league's vision.

The whole AHL family has been working hard for months towards the highlight of the season, which we are now unable to experience. However, we are currently in an exceptional situation that affects many areas of our lives. Health is our greatest asset and we have acted accordingly, including to meet the needs of all three governments and authorities. While the decision hurts, we feel it is our duty to contribute as soon as possible to return to normal.
