On Thursday 15 December 2022, the awards ceremony of the 23rd edition of the "Nino e Amelia Sandri" Scholarship took place at the Council Chamber of the Municipality of Roana.

The ceremony was divided into various significant moments, we remember in particular:

The introduction with greetings and welcome to all participants by the Deputy Mayor Christian Vellar, who explained the unfolding of the awards ceremony and then described the figures of the Sandri spouses.

Nino Sandri and Amelia Taionini were a married couple who moved to Cesuna in 1933 from Vigarano Mainarda in the province of Ferrara, to save the life of Nino, sick with tuberculosis, contracted in the trenches of the I ^ World War.

Nino and Amelia were the tailors of the people of Cesuno and the godparents of many children who went to visit them every day. Nino saved the lives of many partisans of Cesuna risking his own during the Resistance. The couple were unable to have children and for this reason before dying, they decided to leave something to the boys of Cesuna, donating a sum of money to the most deserving students, enhancing the inestimable value of culture. After their death in 1981, the Municipality of Roana continued the tradition and in 2000 1'ha expanded to support all the students of the territory.

In this edition were involved: the current second classes of the primary schools of Roana and Canove respectively with a voucher of € 220.00, the most deserving students of secondary schools of the first degree with a voucher of € 220.00: Nicolas Panozzo (Cesuna campus) average 9.42; Davide Casentini (Mezzaselva headquarters) average 9.17; Emma Fattori (Asiago office) with a voucher of € 220.00 average 9.50.

In conclusion, the book "Sguardi nella Natura" by Daniele Zovi and Giuliano dall'Oglio was donated to all, a collection of experiences and emotions in nature written by Daniele Zovi, forestry expert, writer and popularizer and Giuliano dall'Oglio creative and illustrator. Giuliano underlined the importance of nature and the meetings that can be made inside the woods, encouraging children to observe what is around us giving free rein to their imagination, abandoning mobile phones and taking pen and paper with them. At the end of the event, the Mayor Elisabetta Magnabosco wanted to thank the Authorities present, the Schools and Teachers, the students who participated on behalf of the entire Administration. Together with the Christmas greetings, the Mayor himself wanted to reiterate the particular attention that the Municipal Administration reserves for young people and families, the true pivot of society and vision for the future.
