Focus on the works of Cairoli Square in Asiago

ASIAGO MUNICIPALITY'S PRESS RELEASE OF 22/7/2020

Cairoli Square is more beautiful and safe thanks to the excellent collaboration between the Municipality of Asiago and Etra.

Given the intention of the municipality itself to pave the road surface,it was wanted to fix the sub-services (black water, white water and aqueduct) placed more than fifty years ago.

"Theywere completely damaged and created major hygiene problems," explains Franco Sella, Councillor for Public Works of the Municipality of Asiago. This work had to be done thirty years ago, instead it seemed more comfortable to pave and pretend that the underlying problem did not exist. Personally, I don't find it a proper way to operate. Interventions were delayed both because of the lockdown and because in some places it was necessary to dig by hand; In any case, I am satisfied because now the road is permanently fixed and with the occasion the new optical fiber has also been placed."

From Cairoli Square,therefore, the attention shifts to theintersection with Matteotti avenue where the medianis located: thewidening of the affected sidewalk is being designed with the aim of securing pedestrians and students of nearby high schools. In addition the park will be redeveloped and expanded,a fountain and some trees will be added.

"FromSeptember, however, work will start on the white water on the road leading to the museum," continues Sella. This intervention was supposed to take place last May, but because of the Covid-19 it slipped; the quarantine also caused delays in the supplies of the materials. In short, Asiago is still living with several construction sites, but I ask the citizens to bring patience because this is an extraordinary condition triggered by months of forced stoppage."
