PRESS RELEASE of 18/12/2018 of the MUNICIPALITY of ASIAGO
The extraordinary general meeting of the company Golf Club Asiago SpA unanimously approved the capital increase proposal put forward by Chairman Irene Gemmo claiming the renovations of the field and equipment for which the municipality of Asiago scored from the Veneto region, Population and province of Vicenza a total funding of 2 million and 925,000 euros, compared with a total cost of work around 4 million euros .
The capital increase will lead to part-finance the public contribution acquired the Administration
Order to strengthen the municipal golf course.
The plan of operations will cover the water system, the power plant, the multipurpose facility and play areas with a view to enlargement to 27 holes sports facility.
"We wanted to support this facility that represents an excellence of our tourist offer – declares the Mayor of Asiago, Roberto Rigoni Stern – being considered one of the most beautiful golf courses. The completion of the work funded with government grants of approximately 3 million euros will already by 2019 and will lead to a renewal of structures and obsolete plants providing players with an improvement of the field plus the ability to practice Golf in winter by installing game simulators in the new multipurpose facility. I thank President Irene Gemmo for the great work done in recent years, under his leadership the Asiago golf has made a quantum leap by growing and knowing offer great hospitality to many tourists who frequent Asiago. I am proud to say that through this funding will lay the
basis for the extension of the scope by extending from the existing 18 holes at 27 already designed. In doing so, our field will become an excellence at international level and will be eligible to host global events ".
In detail the work that will be carried out, it should be noted the expansion of the water system having reached the end of its life the existing pond, through the creation of a pit to find water deep; This will ensure the presence of two catchment areas of adequate size for times of drought. A good irrigation will ensure a quality turf and then a game with high standards not only in green and in avant green but also in the fairway.
Not drawing more municipal leadership, as happens today, you'll get savings around the 8/10 thousand euros per year. The work will be completed by a new pumping station near the existing pond.
The existing power plant no longer adequate to meet the changing needs of the Club and it is not possible to further strengthen the current line because of the distance from the substation the project involves the excavation of a power line of approximately 700 metres from contrada Pennar and building a transformer substation that will guarantee electricity requests. In the district heating conduits will pass on nationality and will be laid the fiber optic data transmission.
For the driving range is provided for the arrangement of green and creating target Greens and a new area for putting, bunkers, approaches and for hosting golf clinics. Even areas of the current 1 and 10 tees, putting green and its streets will be important improvements. Elevation of the plan will be redone
putting to make it more playable, tee 1 and 10 will be positioned more centrally and in line with the game and everything will be connected with car path in bituminous material to avoid washing away and dangers for players.
Finally, the multipurpose facility, used as a practice field and teaching can accommodate all aspects of sports that are practiced within the Asiago Golf Club. It will be a complex split level, with a total area of 1,455 square meters, built on a rectangular plan of 12x40 meters. The building will house simulators, batsmen blankets, all new technologies for indoor golf, in addition to multifunctional spaces and service areas. During the ski season the hotel will host the functions and activities related to skiing.
