August 10, 2016: where to watch the shooting stars in the province of Vicenza (Veneto) la notte di San Lorenzo
La notte di San Lorenzo is par excellence the night of wishes: the Perseidmeteor shower of, a phenomenon also known as the "tears of St. Lawrence", this year will give us a wonderful show, keeping with the upturned nose and admire the stars and express as they pass our desires, as well as tradition.
Unfortunately, it is not always easy to find a suitable place to enjoy this natural spectacle. Because of light pollution, in fact, in many areas the starry sky is not clearly visible and so is the chance to see the meteors of passage is reduced.
Fortunately, theAltopiano di Asiago (Vicenza) this does not happen: the light pollution is really reduced and, in the evenings of fine weather, the sky looks like a blanket of velvet studded with bright stars. Not by chance, in fact, the great writer asiaghese Mario Rigoni Stern wrote: "in your life I hope you at least one blackout on a clear night".
TheAltopiano dei Sette Comuni, nestled among the mountains of Vicenza (Veneto), is the perfect place to see the stars and spend a magical night of San Lorenzo .
In this regard, there are many initiatives organized on the plateau during the period from August 10 (notte di San Lorenzo) on 14 August, or on days when the phenomenon of the Perseids is more visible.

1. NIGHT by ASTRONOMER at the Observatory of ASIAGO-August 10, 2016
TheAsiago Observatory for Wednesday August 10, 2016 organizes a special event to live anight from telescope astronomer Copernicus".
The meeting, scheduled at 21.00hours, involves the use of the telescope Copernicus, through which digital images will be captured by various photometric filters and stellar spectra to determine the physical characteristics (temperature, composition, physics, speed) of the celestial bodies.
For lovers of astronomy, an unmissable event to spend the night of the shooting in a unique way!

2. FALLING STARS in MARCESINA-NIGHT EXCURSION with GUIDE plateau-August 10, 2016
