Parkade to Asiago: work begins

The new underground car park will host a total of 180 parking spaces

They officially kicked off work on what will be the new underground car park just outside the Centre of Asiago.

The structure, with two basement floors can accommodate a total of 180 parking spaces in the area between via Trento Trieste and via Verdi, will play two important roles: to decongest the Centre and via Garibaldi and revitalize the green area of via Trento Trieste. This is because, on top of the two basement floors, will be constructed a playground attached to public gardens.

"We think of almost 200 less running around our streets -are the words of Franco Riding, Alderman for public works in the municipality- This means less traffic and less pollution. Parking will also be offering some places with columns for electric cars and was designed so as not to have input and output problems with snow and ice. Completion is scheduled for November 2018".

But most of the discomfort will be all over the coming months with heavy vehicles committed to clear away the excavated material; as early as next summer, in fact, the impact of the construction site with city and traffic will be visibly smaller. For the moment were cut the chestnut trees in the park behind the police station, many of whom were sick.

"In due course will be placed into new trees, possibly of native plants and adapted to mountain climate -close the saddle- in addition to the playground, the work will enable us to get across to the Park Max Longhini the track that cycle from Millepini arrives at the post office. The decision to create an underground parkade was made not to deface the image of Asiago and leave a beautiful green area available to citizens and tourists ".
