PRESS RELEASE OF THE MUNICIPALITY OF ASIAGO OF 10/05/2022 - Meeting at the provincial school office aimed at maintaining the second full-time class of the Asiago plexus and the state of the small mountain schools

Yesterday morning, the mayor Roberto Rigoni Stern and the school director of Asiago, Roberto Polga, met the director of the Provincial School Office, Nicoletta Morbioli, to strongly support the maintenance of a second full-time class of the primary school of Asiago, to date suppressed by the staff of the school.

"I thank Dr. Morbioli for the reassurances received - said the mayor of Asiago - but I do not hide my bitterness and, before that, my concern for what will happen in the coming years in which the deep drop in births is jeopardizing the survival of our mountain schools. We need a strong signal from the institutions, veneto region in particular, to ensure that children in the villages and hamlets of the mountains can continue to attend their schools without the risk of decreasing the level of teaching with excessively "dilated" multi-classes or even worse, of seeing their closure as will happen, unfortunately, next year for the elementary school of Stuttgart. For our part, thanks to the funding put in place by the Municipality, we will be able to guarantee the after-school service at the Sant'Anna di Sasso kindergarten, also at risk of closure for having only 8 students. Without a legislative intervention that guarantees the school service also to groups of students who live the disadvantaged situations of the mountains, what will happen to our small schools?"

"I thank the Director Dr. Morbioli - declares the school director Roberto Polga - for the reassurances received yesterday regarding the requests forwarded regarding the full-time training offer of the primary school for the classes already activated; it is very important to be able to maintain this school time, as our Institute is the only one present on the mountain territory of the Asiago Plateau that guarantees it to the families".
