Next to the languages you do writing, literature, research and study to tell the manifold Alpine identity back the second edition of "the guardian of the Ark"-dedicated to the memory of Osvaldo Dongilli-recognition to a person who stood out for his life and for activities in defence of the landscape, land and roots.
The 2018 has been characterised by numerous works by candidate-54-and for a further step towards theinternationalisation of the prize as evidenced by mentions both the figure of the "Guardian of the Ark" that comes from Chamonix .
Saturday 24 March 2018 award winners- Marco Paolini and Gianfranco Bettin -can interact and talk about their work. Like every year the celebration will be open from interventions dedicated to a particularly poignant theme for the Alps. This time-on the occasion of the centenary of the end of the great war-it is called "1918-2018: it was real peace?"
Will discuss Francesco Jori (journalist and writer, former Deputy Director of Gazzettino newspaper columnist and now Finegil) and Francesco Vallerani (Lecturer in Geography at the University of Ca ' Foscari, attentive to history and scholar the development mode of the northeast).
Everything will be enriched by readings of works by Mario Rigoni Stern and a young Fugee thirty where you will be able to fully grasp what it meant for the mountain people return to their homes and to their lands finding them devastated after the war.
The interventions and the readings will be interspersed with musical performances of the choir of St -directed by Letizia Grassi-who will compete in songs like "the white", dedicated to young fallen Ortigara, with music by Bepi De Maduro and lyrics by Mario Rigoni Stern, and "Mesjac na nebi" (Moon in the sky), Ukrainian folk song very loved by the writer asiaghese.
Will follow the awards ceremony itself, with interviews with the winners of the 2018 Edition- Marco Paolini and Gianfranco Bettin who won the award with the book "the adventures of prime number" (Einaudi) screening of a video produced by the well-known actor veneto Dolomites and surrender of the mentions to the works identified by the jury: AAVV, by force or by choice. Foreign immigration in the Alps and Apennines (Arachne); Antonella Nugefstegupp, fragile landscape (Einaudi); Gaëlle Cavalié, Cents heures de solitude (Paulsen – Guerin); Ilaria Tuti, flowers over hell (Longanesi); Massimo Bubola, Untitled Ballad (Frassinelli).
Will then be the turn of Paolo Rumiz telling the awarded 2018 of "Guardian of the Ark -Osvaldo Dongilli": Ulysse Borgeat. This particular section of the prize Mario Rigoni Stern goes to a person who stood out for his life and for activities in defence of the landscape, land and roots.
Ulysse Borgeat, Chamonix guide, now 92-year-old, was nicknamed the Atlas and is special and unique expression of generations who have tackled the mountain without technological and mechanical means, carrying on shoulders materials, supplies and every thing necessary to Lee of Mont Blanc for a total of 100 tons. In his life he met Walter Bonatti, Gary Hemming and René Desmaison but beside that it should be remembered that without him and his "silent" supply of high altitudes and very hard maybe certain main roads were open.
