The Veneto Region is committed to protecting, promoting and enhancing the use of minority languages present on the regional territory: the Cimbrian one, in Lessinia, in the Asiago plateau and in the Cansiglio, the Ladin one in the Cadore area, and the Friulian one, in the Portogruarese area.
In order to define effective language policies and intervene with targeted actions, it is first necessary to assess the health status of the minority language through a sociolinguistic survey.
For this reason, from November 2022 until February 2023, every Citizen of the Municipalities in which there is a linguistic minority will be able to guarantee their contribution to the definition of the next actions for the protection and promotion of minority languages in the Region, by answering an online, simple, fast and anonymous questionnaire; Compilation is voluntary.
Those who do not have a computer or are not familiar with it, can fill out the questionnaire together with a family member, or can contact numerous associations and local authorities to request assistance in filling it out. The data collected will be processed in full compliance with the legislation on personal data (GDPR).
