On 3, 4, 10 and 11 October, the widespread festival returns to the six hamlets of the Municipality of Roana, on the Plateau of the Seven Municipalities, with excursions, family activities, workshops, shows, music and local flavors.
The woods of the Plateau of the Seven Municipalities in the province of Vicenza light up in red, yellow and orange. The scent of chestnuts and mulled wine returns to the squares, apples are squeezed with a press, milk turns into cheese and the paths are walked by the light of lanterns. It is in this landscape that Vèrben returns on Saturday 3, Sunday 4, Saturday 10 and Sunday 11 October 2026, the event promoted by the Municipality of Roana to celebrate autumn through nature, traditions, outdoor activities, shows and flavors of the area.
Marzia Rigoni, Councillor for Tourism of the Municipality of Roana, declares: «Vèrben is a great widespread festival that celebrates the beauty of autumn and the identity of our six hamlets. The success of such a rich and articulated event is only possible thanks to the extraordinary synergy of our territory: for this I want to extend a sincere thank you to all those who made this event possible and in particular to all the Pro Loco of the Municipality of Roana. The great commitment, passion and tireless work of their volunteers are the real engine of this event, capable of making residents and tourists experience the magic of our traditions, foliage and the return of the traveling train on the historic "Vaca Mora" road. We are waiting for guests and friends from our territories to share these special days».
The program crosses the six hamlets of Mezzaselva, Roana, Camporovere, Canove, Cesuna and Treschè Conca, transforming woods, squares and public spaces for two weekends into as many stages of a journey dedicated to the Plateau in the foliage season.
On the second weekend, the Vèrben traveling train will also be active. You can get on and off at the three stations of the festival to reach the scheduled activities, accompanied by a train conductor who, along the way, will present stories, legends and curiosities related to the environment and the places crossed.
Its itinerary evokes the route of the historic "Vaca Mora", the steam train with rack sections that from 1910 to 1958 connected the plain to the plateau, passing through Treschè Conca, Cesuna and Canove up to Asiago. An extraordinary work of engineering that has marked the life of local communities and which today lives on in festive form as a symbol of memory and belonging.
The train thus also becomes the image with which to read the entire event: a journey in stages through woods, squares, flavors and traditions, united by the colors of autumn and the desire to rediscover the territory at a slower pace.
Nature, movement and well-being
Nature is the first scenario of Vèrben.
In Mezzaselva, in the SelvArt woods, the open-air school offers workshops and games dedicated to trees together with the students of the Agricultural address of the IIS of Asiago "Mario Rigoni Stern". It will also be possible to participate in the Treasure Hunt at Carachighele and Autumn Emotions, an experiential wellness workshop for adults conducted through shapes and colors.
In Camporovere there will be a nature photography workshop, tandem paragliding flights, a new stage of the Outdoor School and Escape from the Woods, a real escape room in nature, where adults and families will have to solve puzzles and decipher the clues contained in a tampered map.
Treschè Conca also invites you to get moving with a treasure hunt, archery and the activities of the Outdoor School dedicated to the forest.
Games, creativity and family activities
In Canove, I zughi de sti ani and the great Game of the Goose will bring back to the Palazzetto the pastimes of the past. On the two days, La Racconta Storie will offer two fairy tales in the morning and two in the afternoon, curated by Annamaria Langella. Next to it, there will be a watercolor workshop, the workshops The tree and its seasons and How does an acorn become a tree?, the dance lessons The dance of colored leaves and the Young naturalist's Passport. With Wings of Wind , children will be able to experience the sensation of flying on a real paragliding seat, while on Sunday the Gold Leaf Hunt will rain some tickets from the sky with prizes for the young winners.
In Cesuna it will be possible to rediscover twenty popular wooden games, once present in the courtyards and fields. In Treschè Conca there will be space for autumn games, while here and in Roana the animation with Ariel will bring soap bubbles and face painting. In Canove and Cesuna there will also be inflatables.
Markets, flavours and ancient gestures
Vèrben is also a journey through traditional products, recipes and gestures. In Mezzaselva , the K2 restaurant will offer an autumn lunch dedicated to the flavors of the season. In Roana , the ancient varieties of mountain apples will be the protagonists of Aperipomo: participants will use the press to obtain the juice and prepare a hot apple mulled apple. The readings and stories of the actor Moreno Corà will give voice to the memory linked to the "apples" of the past. During the festival there will also be food stands.
In Canovi, the workshop From pollen to the jar will explain how honey is born, starting from the work of bees. There will also be a food stand dedicated to autumn flavors, while hot tea and mulled wine will be offered on the evening return of the train.
Also in Cesuna ample space will be reserved for honey, with the agri-food market, Save the Bees lessons and the workshop curated by Asiago Guide. With Campagna Amica will arrive typical products and specialties of the area, while The ancient crafts and the forest will lead the participants to Malga Zovetto, where butter will be prepared according to tradition, enriching it with wild herbs. Cheesemaking in the square will instead allow children to make a small "tosellina" to take home.
Also in Cesuna will be offered the Autumn Aperitifs, the chestnut with mulled wine and music by The Reserves and the Bar-acca refreshment point, with hot drinks and seasonal drinks.
In Treschè Conca , the autumn stalls will bring handicrafts and works of ingenuity to Piazza Fondi. Throughout the weekend there will be the Osteria Vèrben, the themed menus of the restaurants and the Alpini with roasted chestnuts.
Music, stories and shows
When evening falls, the paths become part of the show. In Mezzaselva , the Lanterne excursion will lead to the Carachighele to listen to Moreno Corà and Vibranima among fairy tales, ancient legends and music in the moonlight. From Canove and Treschè Conca two other walks with lanterns will reach the Cesuna Pine Forest, where fire will be the protagonist of Spirito di Drago, a show curated by Chandy.
In Roana, the patronal feast of Santa Giustina will include the celebration of Mass and a program with the Rockstar – Vasco Tribute Band, Kappa DJ, Eva & Remo and an aperitif with the Babata.
In Canove the Blue Minor Band will animate the autumn aperitif. Cesuna will also host Scatti d'autunno, an exhibition of the Altopiano 7 Comuni Photographic Club dedicated to the colors and landscapes of the season.
In Treschè Conca the program includes an aperitif with saxophonist Manuel Frigo and, on Sunday, Autumn on the Catwalk: leaves and natural materials will become clothes for the Great Autumn Parade. Silvia Zotto's aerial fabric show will conclude the event.
On Sunday, the Cat and the Fox will finally travel on stilts through the three hamlets connected by the train, with as many appearances in Treschè Conca, Canove and Cesuna.
Vèrben is promoted and supported by the Municipality of Roana, which also takes care of its communication, with the conception, co-design, technical and logistical collaboration of the Pro Loco Associations of the hamlets.
The event is organized with the contribution of BVR Banca Veneto Centrale, Suntek Alternative Energy and Confcommercio Vicenza – Municipal Delegation of Roana.
The program is subject to change.
