To win the Prize Jury of asiaghese wood sculpture competition was the artist Imma Garcia Arribas's work "thank you Lord Gutenberg"
From 22 to 27 August 2017 Asiago 's historic centre hosted the 35th Edition of the international competition of wood carving.
The beautiful event, dedicated to the art of sculpture, for many years, raving about the plateau's and tourists from all over Italy and beyond, with masterpieces created by Italian and foreign artists.
During the days of the Festival, our sculptors achieve their work starting from a wooden trunk or a Panel, under the watchful gaze of passers-by in the main streets and squares of the town and the old town.
Sunday 27 August 2017at the conclusion of the 35 International wood sculpture competition Città di Asiago, award ceremonieswere held.
To win the victory with the Award Jury was the artist Imma Garcia Arribas 's work "thank you Lord Gutenberg".
These are the words of the Jury:
"The opinion of the jury, is winner of the international competition of 35 wood carving town of Asiago "thank you Lord " Gutenberg(inventor of mobile printing) of the sculptress Imma Garcia Arribas for demonstrating technical and artistic quality is top notch.
This post looks at the history of communication through a modern interpretation. The choice of "totem" clearly emphasizes the combination of paper and movable type element.
The jury, after a careful and thorough evaluation considers proper to mention the work "the Temple of knowledge" by Marco Hammer together with the opera "Soar " sedentary Augustine Peruzzo.
The jury also wants to congratulate all participants for the high quality of his work and the professionalism ".
A different view was the jury, that with a majority of 104 preferences on 402 votes awarded the Special Prize "Joe From Ave" at work "In a story " by sculptor Father Gianni Baltazar.
