PRESS RELEASE 19/2/2020 Municipality of Asiago
Work continues without interruption at the Monte Ortigara comprehensive institute, in via Bertacchi in Asiago. Currently, considering the temperatures and the weather, the spotlight is on the gym where, in addition to having been installed a new heating system, the changing rooms and the electrical system have been redone. "The building, over 40 years old, needed major structural renovations to make it safer, more functional and accessible to all - explains Franco Sella, Councilor for Public Works of the Municipality of Asiago -. New air heaters were placed and, once the hydraulic works were completed, those relating to electrical systems began. The goal is to give back to students and sports clubs a functional gym without architectural barriers by the end of March». Specifically, SOON LED lights will be installed instead of the old neons, new toilets have been created for the public of the stands, a warehouse has been created to store equipment of various kinds and the changing rooms have been completely redone. The latter, divided between male and female, are complete with showers and toilets. "Everything will be up to standard and without steps so as not to create inconvenience to prams and strollers - concludes Sella -. Also with this in mind, a stairlift will be placed to access the gym. The only element not to be touched by the works is the wooden playing field as it had already been redone in 2008 with an investment of about 20 thousand euros». With the arrival of spring, the external works concerning the sidewalks will be completed and the staircase leading to the parking lot, the fences and the new courtyard space that will rise above the gym will continue. Starting from the beginning of May, always weather permitting, the old sheath on the roof will be replaced so as to solve the problem of infiltration.
