Friday August 14, 2015, at 10.30 to Asiago will have a meeting with the composer Elena Firsova, valid for the 49th Edition of Festival Asiago.
The event will be held at the Council Chamber of the Town Hall of Asiago.
In the evening from 21.00, the music moves to the San Rocco church where they held a concert "Tribute to Elena Firsova" with the Quartet Xenia Quartet. Music by Elena Firsova, Dmitri Smirnov and Alissa Firsova.
XENIA QUARTET
Xenia Ensemble is founded in Turin in 1995 by four musicians with a passion for contemporary music and the ' 900, and soon became a reference point in the Italian musical scene.
The members of the Ensemble are the violinists Adrian Pinzaru and Eilis Cranitch, violist Daniel Palmizio and cellist Claudio Pai.
The Ensemble has collaborated over the years with many of the greatest living composers, among them Giya Kancheli, James Macmillan, Arvo Pärt, Franghiz Ali-Zadeh, Gerald Barry, Simon Holt, Steve Mackey, Peyman Yazdanian, Mauro Man. There are also many internationally renowned artists with whom he interacted Ensemble, Alexander Balanescu, Hilliard Ensemble, Luisa Castellani, Rohan de Saram, Cristina Zavalloni.
The interest in ethnic influences on contemporary music led the Quartet to approach tools such as pìpa and dizi Chinese, Indian tabla , duduk , Armenian oud and geychak Iranians, chang Uzbek, the sho Japanese,uileann pipes iralndese. Xenia Ensemble was a guest at important festivals and

ELENA FIRSOVA
Daughter of the famous physicist, began composing at the age of eleven. He studied at the Moscow Conservatory 1970-75 with Alexander Pirumov and Yuri Kholopov. Established a crucial contact in music with Edison Denisov and Philip Herschkowitz.
In August 1972 he married the composer Dmitri Smirnov, with whom he had two sons, Philip and Alissa. Firsova resides in England with his family since 1991. Wrote hundreds of compositions in various style and has performed all over the world. The first performance of his masterpiece "Requem" to Akhmatova held in Berlin in 2003. Among the latest performances include orchestral pieces such as "The Garden of Dreams" commissioned by the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam and "Beyond the Seal 7s" commissioned by Toulouse Orchestras sympphony. He is currently working on Double Concerto for violin and Cello commissioned by DSO Berlin.
