BATTISTI PROJECT

The Baptists Project were born from an idea of Omar Castello and Lamberto Gregorio during the summer 2010, who, after having played for years in the historians Sir Duke (cover band Padovana Queen and Cult) decided to face the challenge of making a tribute to the genius of music Italian, Lucio Battisti.

The project was born from the desire to bring to the premises and on the summer stages the music "eternal" and still always replaces the great artist, considered one of the greatest personalities in the history of Italian light music and develops thanks to the shared thought that Lucio Battisti has left to posterity an enormous amount of material that, despite the passage of time, does not show the sign of the years.
Indeed! It is strong the conviction that, performing in a tribute inspired by a modern sound does nothing but re-confirm how those songs remain unchanged and timeless, demonstrating how still current his music and what has been a reference point for All contemporary musicians.

Finally, the amalgamation of the components of the band, deriving from previous and different musical experiences, gave life to the unique and original sound of the band, which traces the period "Mogoliano" proposing, where possible, with a key reading Rock, modern and impactful, influenced by contemporary sounds and a very engaging musical spectacle for the spectators.

Since the first beginnings on the music scene, the Battisti Project have already been the protagonists of many live performances both on summer stages and in local specialized for live music, where has always been reconfirmed a high liking of audiences that ranged From the first connoisseurs of Lucio Battisti to the young people who were preparing to (re) discover this singer-songwriter who, no doubt, has never been fashionable.

The passion that united them in considering Baptists among the greatest songwriters of all time, led them to study and re-propose the pieces with a completely new, modern, energetic, youthful and engaging sound for all generations who appreciate or have Appreciated his music thus creating two separate musical sessions: a Standard and a completely acoustic, to be adopted according to the needs of the location in which they perform.

An important contribution was also the musical recognition achieved on September 24, 2011, when the band won, with the song "Anna", the prize of critics in the festival singing Padua "sings the author" dedicated for the occasion precisely to Lucio Battisti.

On June 20, 2012, they won the official selection for Lucio Battisti's best tribute band by participating in the music festival called the Poggio Bustone National Prize in The historic The Place in Rome. On the jury were said Mariano (President and historical arranger Lucio Battisti), Luciano Torani (one of the most famous and esteemed sound technicians in Italy) and Sara Borsarini (historical voice of the First Baptists).

On September 9 (anniversary of the disappearance of Lucio Battisti) perform on the stage of the Festival Poggio Bustone with their entire exhibition to remember the great Lucius receiving the official recognition as the first cover band recognized by the prize Poggio Bustone.
