The Aperitif with the author by Brazzale review continues on Tuesday 25 August 2026, when, at 17:30, Piazza Carli in Asiago will welcome Giorgio Dell'Arti, historic journalist and popularizer, who will present his new book "America nuda e cruda. How we get from the Pilgrim Fathers to Donald Trump", published by Garzanti.
On the occasion of the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence of the United States, Dell'Arti proposes an original way of telling American history, far from traditional manuals and simple successions of dates and events. His is a journey that spans over two centuries of events, from the signing of the Declaration of July 4, 1776 to Donald Trump's second term, focusing on little-known episodes, surprising anecdotes and characters who have contributed, for better or worse, to building the identity of the United States.
More than an institutional chronicle, "America nuda e rada" is a lively story that dwells on the folds of great history: jokes that have remained famous, cheating, revenge, brilliant intuitions and curiosities that restore the most human face of the protagonists. Presidents and Founding Fathers thus coexist with industrialists, journalists, benefactors, criminals, spies and forgotten characters, composing a mosaic rich in nuances that allows us to better understand the evolution of American society.
With his brilliant and informative style, Giorgio Dell'Arti offers a narrative capable of making a complex subject accessible, transforming the history of the United States into a tale full of surprises and reflections. A book that invites us to look beyond stereotypes, discovering how apparently marginal episodes can illuminate the character of one of the most influential nations in the world.
The meeting will offer the public the opportunity to dialogue with one of the most authoritative Italian journalists and to deepen, with an original look, the events that have shaped the United States of yesterday and today.
Admission to the event is free, subject to availability.
In case of bad weather, the meeting will take place at the Council Chamber of the Town Hall of Asiago.
