THE BOOK: WESTERN SUICIDE (ed. Mondadori)

If an attack in the heart of Europe caught us unprepared, it is because we were engaged in our self-destruction. The strategic disarmament of the West had been preceded for years by cultural disarmament. The dominant ideology, the one that the elites spread in universities, in the media, in mass culture and in entertainment, requires us to demolish all self-esteem, to blame ourselves, to scourge ourselves. According to this ideological dictatorship we no longer have values to propose to the world and to the new generations, we only have crimes to atone for. This is Western suicide. Putin's aggression against Ukraine, backed by Xi Jinping, is also the consequence of this: the autocrats of the new imperial powers know that we sabotage ourselves.

It is already happening in America, the cradle of an extreme experiment. This pamphlet is a guide to exploring the ongoing disaster; it is a warning and an alarm.

Europeans still struggle to understand all the excesses of the United States, yet the contagion of the Old Continent has already begun. In the universities a fierce censorship dominates against those who do not adhere to politically correct thought, the list of silenced, expelled, fired personalities grows longer. Only ethnic and sexual minorities have rights to assert; and no duty. Extreme environmentalism, the neo-pagan religion of our time, demonizes economic progress and preaches a future of painful sacrifices or the imminent Apocalypse.

Young people enslaved by social media are manipulated by the billionaires of digital capitalism. The radical chic establishment purifies itself with the catharsis of political correctness. It is the way to cancel one's responsibilities: that alliance between financial capitalism and Big Tech planned a globalization that gutted the working class and impoverished the middle class, creating armies of fallen people. Now that unpunished world is allying itself with the intellectual elites by embracing the crusade for minorities and the environment. The social question is erased. There are no more mass injustices in access to wealth. There is only "a planet to save", and a mosaic of ethnic or sexual identities to excite for them to claim reparations.

In America this is the Gospel of multinationals, in Hollywood and among the millionaire celebrities of sports. In Europe, conformism has the seductive face of Greta Thunberg and Carola Rackete. The radical fringes do not need a mass consensus; they have learned to seduce the establishment, to hoard university chairs, to occupy the media. They can impose a new value system from above. The majority of us suffer what is happening: we have not consented to suicide.
