On Thursday, July 30, 2026, at 5:30 p.m., the central stage of Piazza Carli in Asiago will host a new appointment in the Aperitif with the Author by Brazzale review with Lama Michel Rinpoche, a Buddhist master known internationally for his teaching and dissemination activities.
During the meeting he will present the book "Where do you go so quickly? Buddhism in everyday life" (ed. Bompiani), a work that addresses one of the most characteristic issues of our time: the feeling of being constantly in the running, overwhelmed by commitments, stimuli and requests that seem to leave no room for silence and reflection.
Starting from a question as simple as it is provocative - where are we going in such a hurry? - the author invites the reader to question the meaning of their daily choices and the way in which time is used. According to Lama Michel Rinpoche, people often do not run because of a real lack of time, but because the days are filled with superfluous activities, distractions and continuous stresses that end up distancing people from what really matters.
The book also questions one of the most widespread beliefs of contemporary society: the idea that doing everything faster means living better. On the contrary, the author proposes a reflection on the value of presence, attention and the ability to slow down, suggesting that the quality of life does not depend on the quantity of things done, but on the awareness with which they are lived.
Through concrete examples, personal anecdotes and teachings from the Buddhist tradition, the volume offers practical ideas for recovering a more authentic inner space, reducing the noise generated by constant distractions and developing greater serenity in everyday life.
The simple and accessible language makes the book suitable even for those approaching Buddhist philosophy for the first time.
The meeting will be a valuable opportunity to explore topics such as stress management, the relationship with time, the search for inner balance and awareness, dialoguing directly with one of the most authoritative voices of contemporary Buddhism.
Admission to the event is free, subject to availability.
In case of bad weather, the meeting will take place at the Council Chamber of the Municipality of Asiago.
