Aperitivo con l'Autore Mauro e Marianna Corona a Enego 22 agosto 2026

On Saturday 22 August 2026, at 21:00, the Palazzo della Cultura e del Turismo in Enego will host a special event in the Aperitivo con l'autore by Brazzale review, which will feature Mauro Corona and Marianna Corona, father and daughter, united by a deep bond with the mountains and a passion for writing.

One of the most beloved and recognizable writers, sculptors and mountaineers of contemporary Italian fiction, Mauro Corona will present his latest novel "The paths of pine needles", published by Mondadori. Through the story of two brothers who grew up in the shadow of the mountains, educated by their grandfather to respect nature but landed, as adults, at opposing visions of the relationship between man and the environment, the author builds an intense apologue dedicated to the great contradictions of our time. On the one hand, the intransigent protection of the ecosystem, on the other, the exploitation of resources in the name of progress: two irreconcilable perspectives that find in the figure of the old mountaineer a gaze capable of combining wisdom, understanding and hope. A novel that invites us to reflect on the value of roots, forgiveness and responsibility towards the natural world.

Next to him will be his daughter Marianna Corona, who will present "Refuges for a suspended time. Notebook of life and high ground", published by Rizzoli. An intimate and delicate book, built like a notebook of short autobiographical stories in which the mountain becomes much more than a scenario: it is a place of the soul, a space for growth, memory and rebirth. Through episodes of everyday life, walks along the paths, childhood memories alongside her father and the story of the disease faced with courage, the author offers an authentic testimony of the deep bond that unites the human being to nature. Enriched with evocative illustrations, the book invites you to rediscover the mountain as an inner refuge, capable of giving balance, strength and hope.

The meeting will offer the public the opportunity to listen to two voices belonging to the same family but profoundly original, united by an identical sensitivity towards the mountains and by two different, and complementary, ways of telling their soul: that of the novel and that of the memoir.

Admission to the event is free, subject to availability.

The authors

  • Mauro Corona (Baselga di Piné, 9 August 1950) is an Italian writer, mountaineer, sculptor and television personality .  Born in Trentino and raised in Erto and Casso (Pordenone), he lived a childhood marked by daily fatigue and the mountains, which have remained the beating heart of his life and his works. Author of over forty books, many of which have become best sellers, he tells mountain memories, mountaineering stories and reflections on the relationship between man and nature, with a poetic, direct and profound style.
During his career he has opened over 300 climbing routes, mainly in the Friulian Dolomites, also participating in expeditions to Greenland and the United States.
In recent years he has also become a well-known face to the general public thanks to his participation in several television talk shows, where he has been appreciated for his frankness, passion and irony.

  • Marianna Corona is a writer, yoga teacher and digital communication expert born in the heart of the Friulian Dolomites, in a small mountain town in the Vajont area, where she still lives in close contact with nature.
Daughter of the writer, mountaineer and sculptor Mauro Corona, she grew up among woods, rocks and paths, in an environment that has profoundly marked her imagination and her way of telling the mountain and interiority.
After her university studies, she obtained a master's degree in New Media Languages and Technologies and works as a social media manager and trainer in the field of online communication, collaborating with publishing houses and small-medium enterprises.
In 2017 she became a yoga teacher, a discipline that she combines with writing and which has also played an important role in her personal path of treatment and rebirth after the oncological disease she has talked about in several interviews.
As an author, she made her debut in 2021 with the book "Blooming among the rocks", dedicated to the relationship with the mountains and the ability to regenerate precisely in the most difficult moments. In 2024 she published the fantasy novel "Le Vèinte, le streghe del vento", in which she elaborates fears and questions about the future through a symbolic story, and in 2025 she came out with "Shelters for a suspended time. Notebook of life and altitude", a narrative notebook that intertwines life, illness, yoga and high-altitude landscapes, an intense autobiographical story in which the mountain becomes a metaphor for resilience, balance and rebirth.
