On Sunday, July 12, 2026, at 5:30 p.m., on the central stage of Piazza Carli in Asiago, Aperitivo con l'Autore by Brazzale kicks off, the cultural and literary review that animates the summer of the Plateau with meetings dedicated to books and their authors.
The first appointment will feature Paolo Volpato, author of "Monte Cengio 1916. The Stuparich brothers, the Grenadiers of Sardinia and the sacrifice that became legend" (ed. Itinera Progetti), a volume dedicated to one of the most intense pages of the Great War on the Plateau of the Seven Municipalities.
Through a narrative that combines historical rigor and direct testimonies, the book reconstructs the events of 1916 on Monte Cengio, giving voice to commanders, young officers, soldiers and civilians overwhelmed by the conflict, through diaries, memories and direct testimonies.
At the center of the story emerge the figures of Carlo and Giani Stuparich, officers and intellectuals, symbols of a generation marked by patriotic ideals and the dramatic fate of war.
The meeting will therefore offer an opportunity to rediscover, through the voice of the author, a fundamental chapter of local and national history.
Admission to the event is free, subject to availability.
In case of bad weather, the meeting will take place at the Council Chamber of the Municipality of Asiago. For updates and information, you can contact the bookshop through the appropriate buttons at the bottom of the page.
