On Monday, August 17, 2026, at 5:30 p.m., Piazza Giardini in Gallio will host a new appointment in the Aperitif with the Author by Brazzale review, starring Tamara Lunger, one of the most popular Italian mountaineers, who will present her new book "A woman who walks with the wind. Me and Tùje, three months on foot in the Mongolian steppe", published by Rizzoli.
After conquering some of the highest mountains on the planet, including K2, Tamara Lunger chooses a completely different challenge: to abandon the peaks to embark on a long journey of over two thousand kilometers through the boundless Mongolian steppe, accompanied only by a camel named Tùje. Thus was born an intense travel diary that, rather than telling the story of a feat, becomes the account of a profound inner transformation.
Between sandstorms, infinite silences, unexpected encounters and days marked by the slow rhythm of the journey, the author leads the reader on a path made up of essentiality, listening and reconnection with nature. The journey is thus transformed into an opportunity to rediscover the value of slowness, face one's fragility and find oneself away from the noise of the world.
The meeting will offer the public the opportunity to listen to the author's own voice tell the story of this extraordinary experience, between exploration, resilience and inner search.

The author
Born in Bolzano in 1986, Tamara Lunger is one of the most internationally known Italian mountaineers. The second Italian woman to reach the summit of K2 in 2014, she has participated in numerous expeditions to the highest mountains in the world, including the historic winter ascent of Nanga Parbat together with Simone Moro. Alongside her mountaineering activity, she has also established herself as an author, telling in her works the deep bond between the mountains, nature and the path of personal growth.
