Luca Donini Friday, 5 January 2018 , at 17.30, gallium will host the Luca Donini Trio, for an afternoon full of most beautiful jazz music.

The saxophonist veronese, one of the most famous and appreciated jazz musicians of the Italian landscape and beyond, will be performing in concert together with his companions, delighting the audience this afternoon with melodies and songs jazz genre and making the atmosphere of Christmas markets even more attractive.

LUCA DONINI

Graduated with the highest grades in Saxophone, Clarinet and later in Jazz music with Franco D'Andrea.

Carries out an intense concert activity and record company throughout Europe, as a saxophonist, composer, Director, collaborating with some of the most important musicians and American and European artists like Tony Scott, Franco d'Andrea, Henry Threadgil, Paolo Fresu, Enrico Rava, Gianluigi Trovesi, Tullio De Piscopo, Ronnie Jones, Vincent Palmer, Garrison Fewell, Marco Columbro, Alessandro Haber, Roonda Moore, MariaLeon, Terry Welkell Hosè, Merce Cunningham, André De La Roche etc ...

From 1989 he directed the "Future Jazz Big Band Orchestra" in addition to being the arranger and composer of songs performed during concerts: the ensemble includes some of the greatest jazz musicians of the Italian music scene. By 2015 is Director, composer and arranger for the "Italian Jazz Project Orchestr" which has released the cd "Horus". He's leader of "Luca Donini Quartet".

He played in some of the most important European festivals and since 2004 to 2016 held with Luca Donini Quartet three important tournée in Germany playing in the Berlin Film Festival, Dresden, Leipzig, Altemburg, Jena. In 2008 the Luca Donini Quartet, only Italian group, took part with a 14-day tour to the most important Jazz festivals in Iowa (USA).

In the field of classical and contemporary music he has collaborated with various Italian theatres and orchestras, including the Teatro La Fenice in Venice, the "Teatro Verdi" of Trieste, theOrchestra of the "Festival of Trent "or contemporary music.

Also looking for new expressive possibilities of saxophone in the field of contemporary music and electro-acoustics working alongside composers and holding seminars in Italy and abroad.

Has been Artistic Director of "Baldo Jazz young talents" in Malcesine (Vr), an exhibition which takes place at the mountain station (Tratto Spino Monte Baldo) and promoted by the direction of the cableway to enhance the best young graduates in jazz by some Italian conservatories.

He was Artistic Director of Legnago Jazz Festival (2000, 2001, 2005), Cerea Jazz (2006, 2007, 2008), Bovolone Jazz (2008).

Winner of competition (for exams and titles) to teach saxophone in State Music Conservatories. From 1999 is Professor at the conservatories of music.
Lent their artistic skills at the conservatories of Como, Cosenza, Matera, Vicenza, Vibo Valentia, Trento, Padua and Bari.

He published several books and more than 60 CDs for various record labels, including BMG Ricordi, Universal, Muvicom/memories, Azzurramusic, Edel, Splasc (h) records, CatSound, Egeamusic.

He is currently Professor of saxophone and teaches jazz Department at the State Conservatory "a. Buzzolla" of Adria (Ro).

It also takes masterclasses and workshops of a variety of modern performance practice, improvisation and jazz phrasing technique at various institutions: Conservatories, music schools, universities.
