"Journey into European romanticism": Alberto Tecchiati, cello-Angelo Morelato, piano-music by Faure, Rachmaninov, Schumann, Brahms

Artemusica Culture of Roana continues its activities by offering to fans on Easter traditional meeting with classical music.

The concert, for cello and piano, will take place on Sunday 27 March, at 21.00, at the Council Chamber of the Town Hall of Canove, and will be followed by light refreshments.

The concert the Duo Tecchiati-Malik will present, will be an opportunity to know and deepen the Repertoire and features of this Chamber music. The Duo, winner of Terenzio Zardini of Verona of 2015, we will propose a "musical journey" romantic Europe, touching different styles and traditions. The first part of the concert will be dedicated to the shape of the Lied with authors like Fauré (Après un rêve and Sicilienne op. 78), Rachmaninov (Vocalise) and Schumann (Fantasiestücke op. 73); the second part will be entirely devoted to Sonata form, with a performance of the famous Sonata op. 38 by Brahms, song characterized by technical and interpretative difficulties for this training.

Listening guide
Vocal chamber music was a constant in the career of Gabriel Fauré that already during the years of study had embarked on the composition of a cycle of Mélodies. Preferably in groups of two and three melodies, sometimes even four or five, the composer wanted to honor girlfriends gentlewomen; between the look of mélodies figure several times the name of Pauline Viardot which Fauré hoped for some time to become law.
The romance we'll listen, Après un rêve, is an example of the intimate dimensions contained typical of vocal repertoire of Chamber music of the French composer.

In addition to the two sonatas for cello and piano, belonging to the fullness of Fauré and among the most important French works, the composer wrote for the same instrumental training a number of smaller pieces. Some of these are pages, sheets of album conceived as a tribute to friends or songs requested by editors who wanted to profit from the original melodic vein of the author. But what never fails, even in these pages are somehow "lesser" lyricism (hallmark of the whole work of Fauré) and the typical reserve intimate, essential aspects of a refined sensibility and elitist. The Sicilienne op. 78 is one example.

Vocalise op. 34 No. 14 is a composition of Russian pianist Sergei Rachmaninoff, published as the last of his Fourteen Songs of that opera. In its original form is an ' exercise ' for voice devoid of text, the choice of which of the vowels is left to the performer, obviously accompanied by piano; written for a tenor or soprano voice (although for the latter), is dedicated to Antonina Nezhdanova, who was the first to perform this song.

Robert Schumann wrote the Fantasiestücke op. 73 in 1849, during one of his recent periods of happy creative fervor. The work was conceived for clarinet and piano, but the author himself contemplated the possibility of executing it with both the violin cello (cello version nowadays is the most widely performed).
The Sonata in e minor op # 1. 38 was composed by Johannes Brahms between 1862 and 1865: the opera reflects research undertaken by Brahms in those years its own tone of voice of Chamber music; a tone of voice instrumental log centric moderate-heavy and that is therefore an optimal expressive medium in the combination of cello and piano. Writing the op. 38 denotes an admirable diversification and wealth in the mode of interaction between the two instruments; It also stands out for being a sort of homage to the venerated 18th century tradition (but were also designated, from critics, numerous quotes from Schubert).
